Reliability Sensitivity Analysis Method for Mechanical Components

Based on the univariate dimension-reduction method (UDRM), Edgeworth series, and sensitivity analysis, a new for reliability analysis of mechanical components is proposed. The applied to calculate response origin moments their with respect distribution parameters (e.g., mean standard deviation) fundamental input random variables. series used estimate failure probability by using first few central moments. analytic formula can be derived calculating partial derivative P f basic nonnormal need not transformed into equivalent normal ones. Three numerical examples are employed illustrate accuracy efficiency proposed comparing results obtained those Monte Carlo simulation (MCS).
